Booking

How do I book a ticket online?
Once you have decided on a film and film time simply click on your selection and you will be taken to the booking system. Here you will be able to select the number and type of tickets you require. When you are happy with your selection you will be asked to submit your email address, so that you can receive confirmation of your booking, and your payment details. If you have registered for Quick Booking, you will only have to enter your password. At any point prior to entering your payment details you can abort the booking process or make amendments to your selection. Online booking is available only to those who accept ODEON Cinemas’ Terms of Use.
Please click here to be taken to our TERMS OF USE page.
I don't get the option of seat selection when I try to book.
When you click on the film time, you should see a set of three blue boxes appear with the first box labelled "You've chosen", the second labelled as "Ticket Selction" and the third as "You have selected." If this hasnt appeared, it may be because you dont have the required version of ADOBE FLASH PLAYER installed. To be able to book you need version 6 or above.
If you get the three blue boxes outlined above but no seating plan loads, then this is because the cinema manager has decided not to allocate specific seats for that performance.
To find your current version, simply right click on the trailer on the ODEON homepage. You will then see an entry stating "About Flash Player X" where the X is the version number.
You can download the latest version of FLASH for free by clicking here (opens in a new window).
Can I book via other means than online (eg via telephone)?
ODEON realise that it's not always convenient to book online. We have the widest range of methods of booking in the UK cinema industry, so you can quickly and easily book your cinema tickets. You can use any of the following ways;
· using our fast and efficient Filmline on 0871 22 44 007
· on Sky Digital by pressing the “Interactive” button and selecting “Sky Active” and the “Film Addict” section
· via WAP on your mobile (for T-Mobile, O2, Vodaphone and Orange phones)
· in person at our cinema box office (during normal box office hours)
What payment methods do you accept?
Tickets can be purchased in the UK using Visa, MasterCard, Maestro/Switch (UK banks only) or American Express. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept JCB, Electron, Solo, Style or Duet cards.
In all cases, Bookit Ltd will levy a Card Handling Fee for processing your credit/debit card transaction remotely on telephone and internet transactions. The Card Handling Fee is charged in addition to the stated price of the cinema ticket.
Unfortunately you are unable to redeem gift vouchers to purchase tickets online.
How do I know if my booking is confirmed?
At the end of your booking a page will display to provide a confirmation number. Please keep a note of this number, as you will need to bring it along with your card you used to pay when collecting your tickets at the cinema. You will also receive an email to confirm your booking within 30 minutes. If the confirmation page does not display, you should check your email system to see if you have been sent the confirmation email. If you wish to double check, please contact our Internet Helpdesk on 0871 224 1999 between 11am and 8:30pm.
Once I have booked tickets online, how do I collect them?
You can collect your tickets from the Box Office or from the Automatic Ticket Machines in the foyer (selected cinemas only). You must remember to bring the card used during the booking process as this will be required to locate and issue your booking.
Please ensure that you arrive well in advance of the performance to allow time to pick up your tickets. If you arrive after the performance has started, admission may be refused to avoid distraction to the guests already seated in the cinema.
If your booking contains a Student ticket, you will only be able to collect your tickets from the box office, as you will need to show your student ID.
I’ve made a mistake with my booking – what should I do?
If you have not yet completed your booking (i.e. you have not yet been given a confirmation number or received your confirmation email) you can just close your browser window and start again.
However, if you have been given the confirmation number, your credit/debit card will have already been processed by Bookit Ltd and you should contact our Internet Helpdesk on 0871 224 1999 between 11am and 8:30pm.
Can I add extra seats to an existing booking?
If you were given specific row/seat numbers for your original booking please call our Internet Helpline on 0871 224 1999 to receive advice on how best to proceed. However, if your original booking did not specify a specific seat/row then you can simply complete a second booking for the additional tickets, as you will be able to choose from all available seats when you enter the auditorium.
I want to book a ticket for a date that isn’t displayed.
Unfortunately we sometimes have to wait until the film distribution companies fully confirm details about a film before we can put tickets on sale. As soon as we know the films and times they will be displayed on the website – usually this results in the tickets for next week appearing on the website on Tuesday evening or Wednesday afternoon.
For some big films, due to public demand, tickets can go on sale a few weeks before their release date after agreement with the film distributors. To ensure you are informed about advance sales of key films,
you can register with ODEON to receive promotional and weekly film times emails by clicking here. Why can’t I book a specific seat?
For quieter performances you may be able to choose from ALL available seats when you enter the auditorium, rather than having to sit in a specific pre-booked seat.
Why are some films not shown at my local ODEON or ABC?
In situations where the film distribution companies only print a small number of copies of a film, they usually limit the number of cinemas in an area that can show the film. Choose the film using the Film Finder online and you can see which ODEON Cinemas are showing the film. Film selections are changed weekly at each cinema.

References to adult above do not have the same meaning as adult for the purposes of the mandatory conditions on the exhibition of films relating to the protection of children from harm as contained in the Licensing Act 2003.
Are the advanced screenings the full film?
Yes this is the full film. An advanced screening is simply a unique opportunity to see the film before anyone else!
At what age does someone have to pay the adult ticket price?
All guests aged 15 and over will be charged the adult ticket price. However we offer a student discount to guests in full time education if they hold a valid form of ID such as NUS, NUS Associate, ISIC or Connexions card (which must be presented at the Box Office to get the discount).
Can I take a baby into the cinema? Do I have to pay for them?
What does the 12A certificate mean?
12A is a recent change in classification in the UK. It means that the BBFC have classified the film unsuitable for children under 12. However, they may still watch the film, as long as they are accompanied by someone over 18 at all times during the showing. Advice is given regarding the content of the film and the ADULT must decide if it is appropriate for the accompanying under 12. If you want more information about this or any other film certificates click here.
How can I find out what disabled facilities are available at my nearest ODEON or ABC cinema?
Full details of cinemas' disabled facilities can be located on this website in the Cinema Information section for your local ODEON or ABC cinema.
Please click here to check the disabled facilities at your local ODEON or ABC. Alternatively, you can make your enquiry by telephone by calling the ODEON Contact Centre on
0800 138 3315 (only calls regarding disabled facilities can be answered on this line).
One of our party has a guide or hearing dog.
Guide or hearing dogs will be welcome at all our cinemas for all showings.
Do you show captioned films for the hard of hearing?
Whenever a film is released with captions for the hard of hearing we do try to schedule it at our cinemas, however due to the limited number of copies available we are not able to show it at all our cinemas (especially if it the captioned version has already been shown at a nearby cinema). Captioned for hard of hearing and Audio Described performances are listed separately so you can choose these specific performances.
In addition, the "Your Local Cinema" website provides full listings of captioned performances at ODEON and other cinemas.
Please click here to go to the Your Local Cinema website (opens in a new window).
What does Audio Described mean?
An audio described performance is a standard screening ideal for visually impaired people.
It works by playing a recorded narration, explaining what's happening on screen - during gaps in the dialogue - through personal headphones.
The normal film soundtrack comes through the cinemas surround sound speakers in the usual way, so Audio description
is undetectable to anyone else in the auditorium not using a headset.
Headsets are available on request from the Cinema box office
One of our party is hearing impaired.
One of our party is in a wheelchair - how can we book disabled seating?
We are currently launching the booking function to allow our guests to book disabled spaces online.
If, after selecting your desired performance, you are shown a seating plan which contains a wheelchair logo you can simply create a booking of a single ticket and then click onto the wheelchair logo. You will then be asked if you require a companion to facilitate your visit to the cinema and whether you have a CEA card. If this is the case, the system will automatically add an additional free ticket to the booking for your companion and locate them next to you. If there are others in your party, you should complete a second booking for their tickets.
If you do not have a CEA card or you have a more complicated booking, please call one of our agents on 0800 138 3315 between 11am and 8:30pm and they will complete the booking.
Why do you charge a card handling fee?
ODEON Cinemas treat the processing of credit and debit card transactions and the minimisation of fraud very seriously. As such ODEON have arranged that Bookit Ltd, a company within our corporate family, processes your credit/debit card transactions. Bookit charges a Card Handling Fee to cover the costs it incurs in providing the credit/debit card processing service. Purchases made at the cinema box office in person are not subject to a Card Handling Fee.
If I am running late for the film will my seat be held?
Once your purchase has been confirmed, your seats are held for you until the start of the performance time as published, and will not be sold to another guest. Therefore, payment is required for all confirmed bookings, irrespective of whether the tickets are collected or not. Please note that on occasion entry will be delayed for late arrivals in order to minimise distractions to the already seated audience.
How much time do the adverts and trailers take up?
Normally the advertisements and trailers last for approximately 25 minutes which should be added on to the total running time of the film.
I'm having problems viewing the trailers on the ODEON homepage and the film synopsis pages.
To be able to view the trailers you need to have at least version 8 or above of ADOBE FLASH PLAYER installed on your PC. To find your current version, simply right click on the trailer on the ODEON homepage. You will then see an entry stating "About Flash Player X" where the X is the version number. If you can only see a photograph, or dont see the entry noted above then you need to install FLASH PLAYER.
You can download the latest version of FLASH for free by clicking here (opens in a new window).
I'm having problems with the automated Filmline service on 0871 22 44 007.
ODEON have one of the most advanced automated telephone service in the UK to give our guests quick access to information or to book tickets 24 hours a day. It uses Speech Recognition technology to speed-up the call, however there are certain situations where it is difficult for the system to recognise words:
Short words. If you are trying to select a cinema by just saying the name of a very short town name, the system may experience difficulties. For example, if you are booking for Ayr saying Ayr may cause recognition problems, however just saying ODEON Ayr instead will result in success.
Noisy environments. If there are problems with loud background noise, the system is designed so that users can change to a touch tone system just by pressing any key on their phone during a call. Alternatively saying “Operator” during the call will transfer you to an ODEON operator who will assist you further.
Is it safe to use my credit or debit card to book online?
Yes the systems used are extremely secure. Bookit uses various physical and electronic security measures to protect your personal information. Your transaction details are encrypted using SSL (secure socket layer) technology and BookIt Ltd uses highly reputable credit/debit card security software to process your credit/debit card transactions remotely. In addition, ODEON/Bookit are introducing "Verfied by Visa" and "Mastercard Securecode" to increase the security around your card details.
When and how can I use my voucher for free tickets?
We have a large number of different vouchers available, each has different terms and conditions, please check your voucher carefully for validity.
At the present time we cannot accept vouchers for over the phone or internet bookings. In these instances bookings must be made in person at the cinema. The only exceptions are ODEON Guest Passes/Tickets, which can be used to book over the telephone (please see the reverse of the guest pass/ticket for details)
There will always be a selection of films that your voucher can be used for, but please note that the use of vouchers may be restricted in the first 3 weeks of the release of a specific film - this is referred to as 'Free List Suspended' period.
Please note that ODEON vouchers are not accepted at UCI Sutton. Also please note that vouchers which only have a UCI logo (ie do not contain an ODEON logo as well) have restrictions on the cinemas which will accept the vouchers - for more information please call 0871 22 44 007
If you are unsure of the validity of your voucher for a specific film and/or time, please call the FilmLine on
0871 22 44 007 between 11am and 8:30pm.
Alternatively, please click here to contact us via email.
If you register with Quick Booking, your credit/debit card details are stored on our secure server so that you do not have to re-enter this information every time you book online. You can be assured that your details are safe as they are stored on a secure server, which is not accessible from the Internet.

Why don’t you show more Bollywood films?
We try to ensure a wide choice of film product, however with Bollywood films in particular there are usually only a few film prints in the country, which we try our best to secure, but unfortunately this it isn’t always possible.
What is “Verified by Visa” & “Mastercard SecureCode”?
Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode are products that are offered by Visa and MasterCard in conjunction with the bank who issued your card. Their aim is to make using your card online more secure through the use of your own private password.
Why do you use “Verified by Visa” and “Mastercard SecureCode”
ODEON & Bookit take the security of your credit or debit card details very seriously. We want to ensure that the transactions we accept are authorised by you and “Verified by Visa” and “Mastercard SecureCode” are additional safety measures to ensure that your card is not used fraudulently on our website.
